Job Description:

The DoubleTree by Hilton Albuquerque is seeking a friendly, multi-tasking, self- starting manager to join their sales team.

  • Oversee all catering sales, targeted towards existing and new corporate and social markets.
  • Solicit new business, make prospecting calls and outside client visits.
  • Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
  • Handle event and account details ensuring all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
  • Service accounts with internal and external communication as necessary; including BEO’s, and Group Resumes.
  • Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate to obtaining potential business from that account.
  • Provide an exceptional level of service and acquire the highest quality of catered products for our clients.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Relieves administrative staff as necessary.
  • Answers telephones for other individuals within department during their absence from the office.

Recent or current hotel catering sales experience is REQUIRED for consideration. Hilton experience is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

 

 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

 

  • Must have extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards.
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluently to interact with clients.
  • Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.
  • Basic mathematical skills to complete reports and points of sale.
  • Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours.

 

Experience & Education

 

  • A combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. College degree preferred.
  • Prior Food and Beverage experience a must
  • Proven track record in catering and banquet sales.
