Job Description:

Spire Hospitality LLC, a fast-growing, private equity backed company managing over 23 full service premium branded properties across the United States for Private Equity, REITs and High Net Worth Individuals, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to manage the Hotel Accounting for Spire Hospitality.

Responsibilities will include:


  • Lead, coach, develop and train a team of 5 accountants
  • Maintain monthly closing process and provide accurate reports in a timely manner to owners/lenders
  • Collaboration with the Hotel Operations team to create an efficient finance and accounting process
  • Monthly review of bank / balance Sheet reconciliations, financial statements, cash flow analysis and intercompany activities
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls.  Working with the V.P. of Accounting and Internal Audit to ensure each hotel is in compliance with all applicable Spire policies and procedures
  • Lead for annual external audits
  • Participate in the hiring and training of Hotel Controllers/Directors of Finance
  • Working with the Director of Treasury on cash flow management and funding of mortgages and accounts payable
  • Assisting with the acquisition/on boarding of new hotels


Experience and Skills:


The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hospitality accounting experience, with at least 3 years of experience over a portfolio of hotels.   Previous experience as a Hotel Controller/Director of Finance is preferred.  This position requires strong time management skill set with a focus on meeting deadlines and having the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.  The ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment is critical.
