Job Description:

Are you a police officer, corrections officer or security specialist (active or retired) with the desire for a part time, on call, security position? We are a 177 room resort with temporary needs for security during the evening into night for specific events. This is on an event by event basis and requires you to perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Experience and Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas. 
  • Knowledge of hotel policy and fire safety procedures
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write clearly to ascertain and document important information
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

Education:  Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 

Experience: Prior law enforcement or other military experience preferred.                                 

Licenses or certificates:  No special licenses required. CPR certification and First Aid training preferred.
