Job Description:

Our Restaurant Servers provide food and beverages in a friendly, professional and efficient manner to the hotels restaurant guests ensuring a positive dining experience. Duties include:

Present menus, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food/beverage options.
Write order on check or memorizes it.
Relay order to kitchen and serve courses from kitchen and service bars.
Observe guest to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed.
Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier.
May ladle soup, toss salads, portion pies, and desserts, brew coffee, and perform other services as determined by establishment size and practice.
May clear and reset table at conclusion of each course.
All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service-ware and menu items.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests to explain and record orders.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift.
