Job Description:

Position Purpose: Review, classify and distribute daily revenue, bank and credit card deposits.

Examples of Duties:

Essential functions:

  • Review, adjust and post in computer, accounting reports, i.e. "D" sheet, Food and Beverage and General Cashier report.
  • Prepare a daily report of operation, input in computer by 11:30 a.m.
  • Process and submit all credit card transactions, including daily work and charge backs. Maintain daily credit card totals for month-end discount calculations.
  • Audit all paid outs, allowances, corrections, miscelous vouchers for proper explanation, signature, Code for posting. Verify Public Room rentals totals; audit daily.
  • Prepare the following reconciliation’s: Cash Sales Clearance, Restaurant Clearance, and Employee Meal Clearance.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Assist in the maintenance of the financial records, per established hotel guidelines, including lifting or moving boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain an open line of communication between guests, employees and management.

Specific Job knowledge, skill and ability

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Knowledge of accounting operations relative to the hotel, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills; ability to operate 10-key by touch; computer knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guests and employees in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to understand and communicate with fellow employees and guests.

Qualification Standards

Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience: One-year experience in accounting or Front Office operations. Hotel experience preferred.
