Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to work in both the Accounting and Human Resources Departments at the Doubletree Hotel in Grand Rapids.

  • Performing general recruiting and interviewing candidates and directing 2nd interviews to appropriate managers. Continue the paperwork trail of procedures for onboarding new associates.
  • Complete all filing responsibilities in HR and Accounting Offices.
  • Keep current with billing and tracking of Accounts Receivable and coding and posting of Accounts Payable.
  • Assist in implementing policies and programs for all associates and track compliance.

Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to deal effectively with all employees and employee representatives, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information.

  • Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to prepare official memoranda and correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to all employees.

  • Thorough knowledge of basic HR and Accounting practices and procedures as well as

  • Basic mathematical skills in order to perform moderately complex calculations Using a calculator and/or moderately complex computer system.

  • Ability to prepare correspondence and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an eight-plus hour shift.

  • Visual ability to observe employees in the work place, analyze operations and report situations of concern with regard to areas such as employee performance, grooming, training, policy adherence and morale.
