This management position reports to the Director of Sales and is primarily responsible for managing Association, Corporate and Leisure segments to achieve guest satisfaction; soliciting past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (room night, average rate, room rental) are achieved or exceeded; maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients; handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented: travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads: travel out of town to solicit business in feeder cities: prepare information for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate to generate potential business from that account: and, represent the hotel at trade shows as required.
Primary function is to be able to effectively solicit group business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms and food and beverage.
Soliciting new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.
Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
Participate in daily Stand-up meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
Ability to travel to attend industry trade shows, community events and industry meetings.
Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
Conduct a successful, aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, direct mail, etc. Responsible for maintaining a sales quota as assigned by DOSM.
Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
Knowledge of all departments within the hotel.
Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently.
Ability to establish and master goals and to identify and develop accounts.
Deliver results in a timely and efficient manner.
