Job Overview

As a Sales Manager, you will fill a vital role in supporting our hotel's financial goals through selling guestrooms, catering services and banquet facilities through direct client contact to maximize total rooms revenues. Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in hotel sales, preferably in the SMERF (Social, Military, Education, Religious, Fraternal) market segment and having knowledge of the local area a plus.

Experience and Skills:

Listed below are some of the activities required, but not all inclusive.

  • Respond to incoming sales leads in a timely and professional manner through phone, email and corporate lead system.
  • Make proactive and self-initiated daily contact to new and existing accounts to meet/exceed corporate revenue goals through telephone calls, in-person appointments, hotel tours and written communication.
  • Produce top-line revenue via prospecting, developing contracts, negotiating and closing sales.
  • Sell all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of customer service.
  • Frequent outside calls/appointments to prospective new clients and existing clients to continually build relationships.
  • Participate in Revenue meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
  • Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings which may require evening and weekend hours.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, results, reporting and correspondence in hotel system.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

What would impress us:

  • Previous hotel sales experience with specialty in SMERF market segment
  • Prior Hilton brand experience
  • Knowledge of Delphi
  • Familiar with Annapolis, Maryland and surrounding areas

Physical Requirements:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required including working weekends, holidays and hours exceeding 40+
